honestly i feel psychic i specifically said all these plot twists and multiverses in this show must be solely in service of finding some way to drive the xmen into this franchise!!
this show was fun, i love kamala, and i liked a lot of elements of the show itself, but i wish everything had simply taken a lot longer and been told in a more complex way. kamala's life and family are interesting and the actors had a lot of chemistry - i wish we had spent more time just getting to know her and her life before we delved into all the Plot Twists and Multiverses and then spent more time with them once we were in them. marvel just does not understand nuance and always ends up making everything a jumbled mess for the sake of moving the plot forward in all these tv shows. it's just incoherent.
this is lowkey hilarious since in the comics they introduced kamala as an inhuman during the time when they were trying to drastically scale back the mutant/x-men presence and making the inhumans more relevant, and kamala was part of that. so her being a plot device to bring in the mutants is wild. it all comes full circle in the weirdest ways lol
this kind of petty shit makes me wonder if this is why they culled rogue from most every comic for the last year or so to the point I thought they’d lost the character IP or something lol
she was elected to the x-men line-up but got no pagetime; was glaringly absent from every major krakoa plot, including the ones involving her mothers, even though destiny has been dead for decades and was only now resurrected; she was deliberately kept from gambit, her husband… and now he’s getting a spin-off series, minus rogue - but featuring teen storm? lololol
(that or im wrong and it really is as simple as my initial theory, aka female characters are given prominence in the books based on how much the writer masturbated to them as a teenager, aka the ‘00s model 🙃)
It really is just how much a writer masturbated to them as a kid/teen/young adult/now lmao. Thought technically the new Gambit solo is set back in when he first met 'Ro, so it's not actually current day. But I agree, she's been getting the short end of the stick and egregiously so since she was cut from the Inferno storyline.
I was absolutely not expecting that, I was sitting there with my mouth hanging open!
I have to say that overall Ms. Marvel has been a highlight of phase 4 to me, and it makes me sad that more people aren't giving it a chance. The show as a whole just made me feel so good? Like the whole show felt warm and inviting.
I tried listening closely to the clip and I didn’t recognize it as 90s X-Men, but that might be because I’m used to the major jam bit near the end of the song
