I watched Kokon last night and its subtitle could have been EVERYTHING IS A METAPHOR because geesh. If there would have been less nudity, it could have been an after school special.

i’m dying to see fire of love! the trailer was so breathtaking on the big screen, i hope i get the chance to see it in theatres but it looks like a very limited release so far.

i saw possession (1981) for the first time the other night bc i saw it’s on metrograph, i’ve been wanting to see it forever but could never find it till now. it was absolutely bananas in the best possible way lol i loved it. highly recommend to anyone into weirdo horror and/or monstrous women.

i also saw the assistant (2021) finally. i really liked it, it reminded me of jeanne dielman in some ways and i was impressed with the way it was such a devastating portrait of workplace abuse while never showing or facing it head-on. it was all in the margins yet so clear and the lead actress was fantastic (i’d never seen her in anything before this). i wish it’d gotten more love!

The Assistant was so good! ITA that Julia Garner did an amazing job, and I loved the way it was structured - it really built tension.

I want to watch "Dreaming Walls." I remember if you got the right cherk working they would give yoiu a little tour of the Chelsea but I tried to do that after 9/11 and they said they couldn't do it any longer because of security reasons. It's a beautiful hotel.
