obviously not all fictional anachronisms are the end of the world, but if you’re setting your show in a specific year, hinge and promote heavily on the nostalgia aspect, and make a specific song a plot point……. lmao

exactly? look at chernobyl, which i doubt had even half of the budget stranger things had.
it was so highly praised because of the accuracies and all the details they correctly included

Lol when I was super young I used to watch old movies on VHS and it would have the the year it came out next to it I.e. Gone with the Wind (1939), The Sound of Music (1965). Because I had no concept of time periods I thought Gone with the Wind was set in 1939 and The Sound of Music in 1965 for the longest time because it was ingrained in my mind since I was 6 and then one day I was like WAIT why are there Nazis in 1965??
