i enjoy mitski a lot and that performance was giving me vintage kate bush vibes (i liked it) but i'm kind of shocked at how weak her voice seems live.

Agreed! I mean, idk if it's because she's fatigued from touring or if that's just how she sounds, but it definitely didn't make me eager to see her live.

I know touring can be a factor, though. I saw Haim at the beginning of May, and Danielle's voice sounded a million times stronger then than it did at Glastonbury. I guess the pandemic might have sapped some touring stamina away, too.

Hmm good to know re: Haim, Danielle's voice does sound way off here

still can't believe they put McFly on such a small stage. the crowds outside the tent trying to get in were massive!

yeah i honestly dont know what they were thinking with that tiny ass stage for a band that that regularly fills out arenas and stadiums globally not just the uk and still gets massive radio play

I love watching the videos where we can clearly listen to huge crowds singing along, it always gives me chills even if I don't care about the music

Oh, totally. When they show the audience and thousands of people are dancing and singing and clearly feeling the fuck out of a performance... makes me emotional, tbh!!

I was watching Lorde yesterday, and when she played "Liability", it was a beautiful giant singalong. It made me like the song more.

Exactly!

I often rewatch to this one:

The crowd, the band, the energy, even the sunset colors - it's amazing!

my partner forced me to watch so many of these last night.
he really wants to go to glastonbury next year (he's british and his family is from the area). i have zero desire to go. it appealed to me in my 20s but now i'm old and i'd rather watch on tv/youtube then subject myself to camping with 200,000 high/drunk people in a field for 3 days.

also, holy shit, it's like every big name musical act was either at glastonbury or playing in the UK this weekend.

lol, yeah... while there is nothing like live music, as far as festivals go, I much prefer the sitting on my couch experience!! I was doing some Glastonbury research because I was curious how it differed from American music festivals, and while its long history and the more esoteric parts of it seem so cool, the camping is an absolute dealbreaker for me. Fuck nature!!

But man, is it awesome that we have the tech to watch this stuff from the comfort of our homes.

girl same. my fest days are over. I saw footage from bonnaroo streaming on hulu the other weekend (there were heat advisories the whole weekend) and I texted my sis and was like, "don't you wish you were stuck in a field for 3 days in a tent with no running water and a gross ass port-o-potty right now?" and we laughed about the olden days and how hard we used to go. never again.
