-I’m upset with the way they’re writing Hughie. I can understand him feeling useless because he can’t help but feel weak, and it seems like Vought and Homelander are escalating, but I hated how he said it does bother him that Starlight has powers :( I was rooting for you Hughie!!!! We were all rooting for you!! (Well maybe not lol but I did like him)
-omg at that scene with the Deep. I did NOT expect that. (But I probably should have).
-can Frenchie and Kimiko be guaranteed a happy ending if nothing else???
-that confrontation and fight between Soldier Boy, Butcher, Hughie, and Homelander was so damn good.
-also, Laz is great always but he’s really killing it this season.

Yes, Homelander keeps telling people it's fine to go outside and not to worry about Soldier Boy, the way he (and other characters) talk about him is reminiscent of how politicians and people in general used to argue about how big of a threat covid was and whether it was safe to leave the house

Right, it doesn’t work because 1. Solider Boy is pretty isolated and isn’t killing randoms on purpose and 2. We haven’t seen any citizens express being afraid to leave their homes or go outside. Especially when mass superhero caused death seems extremely common in this universe:
