I think her dad was an accountant to many stars and her mother was in costuming in HW? And of course Jonah is her brother (didn’t he chip in as well financially?)

Her dad is a big entertainment industry/Hollywood business manager so he's rich and has a ton of connections but as far as I know he hasn't been publicly linked to Funny Girl. I think people just assume it because casting her wasn't a great choice.

If anything, I imagine her lifelong friendship with Ben Platt got her the part more than her parents did. Ben’s dad is a big time Broadway producer.
