Regé-Jean Page confirmed that he's not going back to Bridgerton for season 3. He announced it in an Instagram post with a picture with co-star Jonathan Bailey

Ikr, I don't know what his managers are feeding him.

He's not in the same league as Kingsley Ben-Adir for example - if we want to compare him to an actor of similar age/ethnicity/British/equally handsome. But Kingsley did his time on a UK show called Vera (and apparently was a gem to work with) before doing supporting roles here and there in the US. He's got good buzz about him, picks great projects and is also a really good actor but keeps his head down and under the radar.

Rege-Jean on the other hand, is pretty but not the most talented actor and it'll only get you so far.

I have a pal who worked on the show and said he was her favourite cast member to work with. Apparently they all had a celebration on set when he got the role in The OA as it was such a big break for him.

i wonder why he's so against going back to the show even just for a cameo? he's very adamant about distancing himself from the show completely.

Yeah, I always thought he "left" cuz he wanted to do other things but he hasn't done much besides ads so maybe when they told him he wouldn't be the lead for the next few seasons he got mad and petty quit?

Probably overly cautious advice from his management that he'll get pigeonholed and won't be able to shake the heartthrob roles but they're not keeping in mind that A) He doesn't have the range for much else and B) Sometimes being pigeonholed is how people make INSANE coin.

He could've probably starred as the romantic lead in movie and tv dramas for years to come, but oh well.

I mean this with love but he was just an okay actor, it's not as if he was insanely too good for the show. The show is a little cheesy but the way he acts like it's toxic sludge is a bit "biting the hand that feeds."

Visited his Instagram to see what kind of things are keeping him from going back to Bridgerton, saw his poster for Gray Man and was like "oh, good a staring role in a movie!" only to scroll again and find out it was a character poster and he's just a side character in a Gosling/Evans movie.

Basically all he has coming out is a side role in that dumb Gray Man movie and a role in the sure to be dumb Dungeons and Dragons movie lol sucks to have an ego.
