same on all counts! reading anything about this adaptation has felt like watching a car crash in slow motion (and every time i end up running here so people will commiserate with my frustration lol)

the protagonist, gets a lot of fourth wall breaks in the movie, but also has a "a Bridget Jones-esque montage" of crying in the bathtub while drinking wine from the bottle.

...and now I'm cancelling my Netflix subscription.
