Absolutely amazing acting all around in this episode. Hank's last look, and his expression during the cell scene... shivers. Bill Hader said that he didn't even actually hear the sounds during the cell scene, he was only being told what was going on; absolutely stunning work by Anthony Carrigan there.

I did appreciate the handful of comedic bits in between all the intensity. Just like one or two things. That one cop saying "Oh we haven't seen Albert since he cocked his gun in front of us and ran off. He's probably off seeing the sights" killed me.

lmao I love that deeply incompetent cop guy. Albert barging in with his hardass New Yorkness and just having no time for their stupidity and obsession with ~the Raven~ has been great.

obsessed with gene pulling a tom wambsgans on barry. those final looks between bill and henry were everything. really hoping sarah goldberg also pulls out an emmy win bc she was SO good this season.

bill was absolutely correct in saying this episode was supposed to feel like a panic attack

For so many TV shows when they introduce tertiary characters I'm just like "ugh why are we watching this random person and not seeing what the main character is doing?" Something that was really cool about this season is that the tertiary characters--the loved ones of Barry's victims--were completely fascinating and compelling and I thought those parts of the show were some of the best scenes. Also I thought the behind the scenes stuff with Joplin was SUPER interesting. Probably a bit self-indulgent on Hader's part but I loved seeing all of it.

idk how this show isn't more popular. I know it's critically acclaimed but I've never met anyone else who has watched it (I live in England).

That was one of the best episodes of TV, I have ever seen. I need Bill Hader to write and direct a horror move now.
