Bruh, I can't believe they finally brought back certified hottie Nurse Park only to do that to him. 😩

Idk about this episode. Great concept & tone, the design of the creatures was so cool, seriously the make-up work on the admiral mid-mutation was wildly freaky, and Claire's been getting fucking fed these past two episodes. But the writing was sloppy and everything that happened hinged on, just, the most rampant stupidity. Like, this wasn't a team full of ensign red-shirts, you've got an admiral, a captain, a commander just touching shit and sticking their faces in alien tech all willy nilly? No decontamination suits? No isolation/quarantine once he's clearly turning into something else? They're just fine with 15+ crew members becoming the bug borg (burg)? Did they just get dropped on that station for the incoming ship to pick up? Does this burg ship now have the former crew & intel on the Federation. Like??? I kept getting more stressed out watching it and not for their intended reasons.

Yeah, this ep really needed another draft to tighten up the details. And the ending just kind of happens. Give me some negotiations with the red spider people. Like, make all the rambling earlier in the episode from the admiral be related to the reason he got infected or something. Flip the whole demon narrative sideways. Show consequences with the Krill. There are a whole bunch of directions here.

Definitely, you nailed it, it felt like, at most, a second draft. With the admiral, they could have him in a suit and just have him get infected like you said because he was distracted over Claire and got careless.
The Krill probably would have been like "Told you so. Demons. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯" Picturing them like this if they have to bail the Federation out again:

Since they seem to be setting up the bug borg as the new big bad, they could have done a lot more.

I was surprised that they didn't go into the ship with suits on either. Claire is like "Kelly, don't touch that" and Kelly's like "Oh yeah, sorry!" Like... what?

I'm also surprised that once the power went out, there weren't more people walking throughout the ship with flash lights wondering what was going on. The hallways were bare.

This is what upset me the most about this episode! I was just thinking about how much we hadn't seen him in such a long time and then boom, this happens to him! I'm so mad lmao

Can someone explain the new horizons part to me? I thought this show got cancelled, did it come back restructured because the commercials look more serious than the first couple episodes of season 1 I watched.

It's more of a soft rebranding. I think Seth originally wanted the show on streaming but ending going with Fox because the streamer (can't remember if it was Hulu or Netflix) wanted to dump it all at once rather than airing it on a week-by-week basis & he already had connections w/Fox due to Family Guy

Penny absolutely kills all of her scenes, I am glad Seth gives her a lot to work with

-I love the Krill I am a Krill fangirl I hope I see my girl Teleya this season

-Talla is a badass I love her

-nice to have some horror action to be a little more fun after the heaviness of last week but I'm gonna need some Bortus content SOON

I wish we got to see more of the Krill too! Maybe even just a little "I told you so" at the end. The season 3 trailer is promising some later goodness though, fingers crossed.

I also hope we see Teleya. Episode 02.04 is my favorite episode from the whole show, I've watched it a dozen times. I'm really hoping for a follow-up there.
