i know s2 with the stormfront or w/e her name was racist superhero... was there some sort of talk about why they even allowed Black people and poc to get the superhero treatment? wondering if i forgot that or if it was discussed differently/not mentioned at all
i don't think they addressed it in-universe at all actually... obviously at some point they had to have decided to inject non-white kids to maintain the illusion that supes were born "naturally" in the US/not manufactured as well as to capitalize on diversity/representation later but it's totally unclear when that happened and if voight the nazi dying/stan edgar taking over had anything to do with it (also when was that).
it would be interesting for them to explore this in the show given that inflaming and capitalizing on (American) racism was the whole point of homelander's superterrorist plan not to mention how fatws approached the topic of experimentation on and endless exploitation of Black bodies in the service of (white) supremacy
I've completely forgotten everything that happened. I'll probably watch but I think binging s1 and s2 back to back gave me less time to think about any flaws.
