They picked the least interesting Friend and gave him an unfunny stereotypical family. Destined to flop.

They were desperate to do a Monica/Chandler spin-off but Courtenay Cox and Matthew Perry were not intrested.

Matt LeBlanc was the only one keen and despite having just hit it out of the park with Friends, a very similar creative team wasn’t given the same freedom.

ooo a Monica and Chandler series would've been great- I think what was missing with Joey was that it was just him. Friends was so good because of the chemistry and to have just one character felt so weird

You mean NOT stereotypes?

Lmao, this show. "You know, a Modern Family, where everyone is so rich that their problems are low-stakes and no one can relate to them...oh, but here's a gay couple and the family mostly accepts them, so hey! So modern!"

That show annoyed me. Except Phil, who was perfect.

Eh I was sure the cast was over it before it got the final season. I think it was the creators/show runner and network who wanted to do a final season.

The only spin off I would want would be on Haley and Andy getting back together. The writers fucked up by teasing us with Andy being endgame and then the actor (Adam) not being available to shoot the rest of the show. Smh.

Hayley was my favorite character and they ruined her after Andy left the show. She became dumber, more shallow and had no career direction. I ignore the whole twins with Dylan thing and pretend Andy came back at the end of season 9 and they got back together

She really did devolve. All the growth, intelligence, and confidence she gained was thrown out the window.

Her last two seasons were terrible.

I hated this. I mean I get that a new job comes up and you need to take the opportunity (in Adam’s case) but I would much rather have seen Haley by herself if Andy wasn’t going to be around. Or hell, get her and Andy married and then Haley is out or they have to do a long distance relationship or something. Idk. But that character’s ending was the worst.

That show was fun for maybe the first 3 seasons. They had no idea what to do with the kids when they grew up. The storyline where Alex has sex and keeps rubbing it in her parents face was weird and they had no idea how to write Haley’s character. She kept finding her niche and then going back to being a complete idiot the next season and then they have her end up as a young sad mom with twins. Ridiculous.

Mte.

Character development went to shit after the first few season. It was the worst with the kids bc they had so much potential only for it to end up to be nothing.

As for Haley, they badly wanted her to be Claire so they played with her character growth to make it fit the show even when it didn't make sense at all. It's a shame bc she had great character growth and they tossed it out so she can be a mom and married to Dylan.
