I mean it was a fun watch but lbr that’s all it was. I kept waiting for America to fly and shit but I guess she’s joining Bucky in the underpowered as fuck club in the mcu.

And everyone in the Illuminati annoyed me with their cocky ass behaviour except office man and X so they deserved what they got lol

[Spoiler (click to open)]i think they're clearly setting america up to see her powers evolve as she learns how to control them, like she already advanced in her abilities from the start to the finish of the film

This is definitely one of those movies that was enjoyable while watching (even on a rewatch), but thinking about it afterwards it’s not very good and makes me angry, lol.

Raimi honestly was a great choice here. Infused the film with some real uh, how do I say this, identity? Like, MCU direction is often very same-y and lacking in creativity to the point where you could show me a scene from Thor 2, claim it was from Infinity War and I'd probably believe you, but there were so many moments of genuine horror and unease in the direction that really helped set this apart.

Also it was just dumb fun, which I really kind of miss from the pre-MCU superhero flicks. It took it's premise as an excuse to show us zany, wacky, sometimes horrifying shit rather than just being a 2 hour commercial for the next teamup flick.
