Public schools are code for integrated schools which is the real reason they want to steal funds from them. Private schools aren't required to accomodate kids with special needs either.

and even when they talk about "education vouchers" so tax dollars pay for kids to go to private school, that's only gonna be for the kids whose parents can transport them to school, aka two-parent households where one parent makes enough that the other has the free time. it just means that more and more tax-dollars will be taken from the public schools until the only kids still there are the ones whose parents can't afford to take that driving time: the working class, the dual-income, and the single-parent families.

Yes this is the true goal of all these fear-mongering bills. Obvs Repubs hate trans kids and minority groups, but tbh it’s just an excuse to chip away at public education funds so they can return to a time when quality education was reserved for wealthy white men.

The general base clutches their pearls about teaching white guilt or whatever, but I truly believe the ones at the top know it’s BS and just use the moral panic to further their goal of a return to serfdom.
