Elisabeth Moss Defends Scientology

Apr 30, 2022 00:54

Elisabeth Moss addresses criticism of being a Scientologist:

“It’s not really a closed-off religion. It’s a place that is very open to welcoming in somebody who wants to learn more about it. That’s the thing that is probably the most misunderstood.”

"it's not a closed-off religion" then why do they hold people captive?

Plus a policy of disconnect from family and friends, a cost barrier to entry, and literally hiding information about the "religion" from its own members until they reach a high enough level...

All the trademarks of a CULT

It's not closed off when you want to join. But it is when you try to leave, and that's what matters. I don't think anyone ever accused Scientologists of not being open to new membership. They set up a booth down the street from my work with an e-meter...

Fuck off. Nazanin Boniadi and countless others would beg to differ.

So do ~your own research but don’t believe any stories/experiences from ex-$cientologists? Ok gurl.

This reeks of cult recruitment. Encouraging people to do their own research leads to “come join us for an open house!!” And next thing you know you are walking out with a swag bag and an appointment to sign over all your earthly belongings.

Exactly that. And from what I’ve heard, once you make contact it’s really hard to reject them bc they don’t give up easily.

It’s also ironic considering Scientologists aren’t allowed to do their own research and will get in trouble for reading anything aniti-Scientology

I would just encourage people to find out for themselves.

It's so creepy when they all say the same exact thing. Pod people.

They all have their script memorized.
Too bad the cult members cant Google for themselves.
David Miscavige’s dad escaped Scientology after googling it on his Kindle. The church didn’t know it had a web browser built-in.

Crazy. She absolutely can though and is making money and fame off the connections. Her behaviour is always so odd and inappropriate.

She really can’t. Because she has to report back in their stupid sessions that she googled Scientology and read something that was alarming. This in turn triggers the church to lock her in a room and ask her why she hates David miscaviage or some shit. Over and over until she admits to some conspiracy just to shut them up.
After that she has to make amends by doubling up her sessions and pay more money to get her back in good standing with the church.

So no, she does not and cannot Google Scientology.
