I saw this on friday!! Anya is cute and enthusiastic about it all!!

I wanna try to salty licorice especially after Anya said it taste like a "mouthful of ocean water" lol.

All the British stuff looked especially the sausage roll and irn bru. The Swedish rhubard looks good too!

I heard everyone had a really good time on that set and in an age where showrunners and production managers are being fired for hostile working conditions it's really nice to hear. Eggers always makes sure his people are OK on his set, and that says a lot about him.

Speaking of licorice, there's this black licorice ice cream only available in Iceland that is supposed to be delicious.

Country. They're big on salted licorice there as well. A friend went there for an artist retreat and was able to try some and she loved it.

the funny part is one of her grandmother's is actually spanish, i'm pretty sure anya is still fluent in spanish too.
her parents were on vacation in miami but were living in Argentina.

My fave salty licorice candy atm is Icelandic brand djúpur; salty licorice balls with chocolate inside, mmmm. And also Norwegian Hocky Pulver, so good. Pulver Padder should be mentioned too - Hard licorice toads with yet a salty surprise inside when you chew them.

You should try it! Icelandic licorice is more sweet than salt. They combine it with almost anything from coconut to chocolate. It probably sounds weird, but omg it works

omg I just commented about the Icelandic liquorice/chocolate combos and how much I love them!! I love going into shops there and just guessing what kind of liquorice sweet I'm picking up lmao I'm yet to be disappointed

also bc I'm coeliac 95% of liquorice has gluten so I just hack it and eat their delicious liquorice until I leave the country and then suffer the gastro consequences :(
