I was obsessed with him circa 2006. I remember devouring all his movies and SNL sketches. At some point I just outgrew him. By the time Anchorman 2 dropped, I had very little interest in him. Anyway I don't mind him these days, so this casting choice is whatever with me lol

Basically, they were partners and started growing apart. But the straw that broke the camel’s back was when McKay cast John C. Reilly instead of Ferrell for a role the latter really wanted to play, and Reilly had to break the news because McKay was too much of a coward to do it himself.

There are multiple posts about it here, which include the most insincere “apology” from McKay. I’d look them up in the tags for an interesting read!

He was in The LEGO Movie, so his track record in movies based on toys is good so far.

I would be eager to see any new Gerwig film, but I’m both confused and intrigued by this project because I have no clue what it’s going to look like.

My theory is a little girl sees the adults around her as Barbie and friends, but I could be wrong.
