I listened to Omar Apollo's album this morning and it feels solid though I need to listen again when I'm alert/fully awake vs. My drowsiness of the morning commute lol

What a busy new release day for me!!

FJM's new album is great, if a little specific. Like idk how often I will be in the mood to listen to jazzy orchestral alt-rock, but when I am, this will be the album for it. Fave song as of now:

but that could change! I had to pick up tickets to see him play again this summer - "Hollywood Forever Cemetery Sings" at Hollywood Forever was too good an opportunity to pass up, plus I want to see him play some more stuff from the new album.

Listening to Wet Leg's album and I think the singles are the strongest songs overall, but it's a very enjoyable listen!! My favorite song is still "Angelica". I'm sure this is gonna get a lot of play.

Jack White also released a new album today - haven't gotten to that one yet, but the reviews seem pretty mixed, which makes sense considering the singles. I'm more optimistic about the one he's releasing next month or whenever.

i can't look at that banks picture and not think of the madonna/MLK rebel heart mashup... whew
i feel like these songs dont sound all that different from what she was doing in 2014? has she had any like distinct "eras"?

hmm, i don't think she's that kind of artist. i feel like her music becomes more nuanced as she progresses, but she's not someone i'd recommend if you want a genre-hopping discography. i'm def biased bc she's one of my faves, but when i listen to all of her albums i can hear the differences/growth.
