i admire people who can leave social media. i can't. 8(

i have facebook, twitter, tumblr and instagram. i don't really use facebook anymore other than to get birthday reminders and memories (i have a lot of posts tied to my late mum) and to sometimes share things, but otherwise idc about it and rarely check it. i don't really bother to use linkedin but i do have one.

i mostly sit on twitter, tumblr and instagram. my cats have an instagram account because i get bored and like to see if i can get them more followers. (it's also super helpful for my work to know how to use the platform.) i livetweet a lot of shit on twitter and use tumblr to promote my fic.

I deleted my twitter a month ago and feel much better without it. I have an IG that I only use to follow some fashion and foodie accounts, I don‘t ever post there. The only social media I have is this livejournal I guess lmao

I'm not on social media. Lately people have been telling me i should at least have linkedin for networking but i get anxious just thinking about it.

I was forced by my company to get a LinkedIn (I also don’t have other social media) and it did nothing for networking expect turn into a giant echo chamber for the company because we were all required to be on it, 0/10 would not recommend

Oh good luck to her! If this will help her getting cast in things I'm all for it, she's very likeable

I don't have any social media and when I tell people this they have some funny reactions. Some think I have something to hide (lol I just find them too anxiety-inducing), some of them act very defensive like having social media is something THEY are doing wrong, and some just find it weird/don't believe it

Yeah the weird reactions peeve me off, like why do people care? I only have mine for work and never post. Like I really wish I didn’t have such an aversion to having a public image, or self-promotion and hustling but I do and that’s my loss.

I do find people who make social media their whole personality weird - only because they’re always so paranoid that their image will be destroyed. But mostly I envy their energy because I find even keeping a diary exhausting lol.

I have Instagram and Facebook for work (as in accounts just so I can have permission to update client socials), and Twitter for keeping up with kpop insanity. I stopped using social media after some creepy incidents with men from work years ago, though, but I didn't deactivate until the last few years. Now I've removed/deactivated everything and I don't miss it.
