It’s clear that no one was interested in taking on The Batman in its second weekend at the box office, as there are no new major studio theatrical releases on the slate. Turning Red, which could have potentially made for excellent counter-programming, is premiering on Disney+ (and in a select few theaters in NY and LA). Otherwise, there are a host of new indies available for your viewing pleasure.
The films listed are from studios other than the “Big Six” - Paramount, Warner Brothers, 20th Century Studios, Universal, Columbia/Sony and Disney. Note that some of the movies listed are in their first week or two of limited release in the USA, so it may take them a few more weeks (or months) to show up in your local arthouse theater or on VOD.
