This is really good and Amanda is doing a great job, but I do worry that it's making Elizabeth look too sympathetic. Like a little girl who was just in over her head instead of a scammer.

there are definitely scenes that worry me like that, but then there are scenes where she's just so awful like how she was with the engineers celebrating the birthday, or how she just ruthlessly told Edmond he and his team have to work 24-hour days, that show her to be quite calculating and manipulative (even to her investors where she's crying about being in over her head but gets them to agree to someone they don't even know being the COO)

IA, she's quite manipulative in several scenes, even the last scene where she asks Sunny to invest 20mil and tells him he'll be COO knowing good and goddamn well he's not doing shit.

yeah! exactly. he says 12 million and she's like...20? in such a way that's super manipulative. Amanda is doing a great job showing that.

i've only watched ep 1 so far but i really enjoyed it. a lot of it hinges on amanda's performance. so glad that kate dropped out because i can't imagine her pulling off the role anywhere near as well.

ep 1 takeaways -

sunny balwani is SUCH a fucking creep.

phyllis gardner ripping apart elizabeth holmes was so satisfying, even if she was only a hapless sophomore at the time.

finally, william h. macy's fivehead on the show show is alarming.
