Today in "Evangeline Lily was trending on Twitter and I didn't need to click to know why" news the actress is urging Canadian Prime Minister to talk with anti-mandate protestors. She talks about it's time to be unified... blah blah.

For context, for the past 21 days the city of Ottawa has been held hostage by a convoy outside of Parliament (there have currently been over 191 arrests, 57 trucks towed and the area has been cleared). Horns were blaring 24/7 to the point there was a court injunction to get them to stop (and then it was only for a few hours), the War Memorial was vandalized, businesses have been vandalized, people have been assaulted, harassed and many did not feel safe leaving their homes. There is also a class-action lawsuit from those living in Ottawa against The Convoy. The Caillou "Freedom" Convoy originally started to protest mandates that truckers needed to be vaccinated to cross the Canada/USA border. There have been similar "protests" across the country and blocking of supply chains. The Convoy also has strong ties to the alt-right.

The Canadian Parliament spent the weekend debating whether or not to pass the Emergency Measures Act which would grant the government special powers in order to properly deal with the situation.

Canadians who are vaccinated are still free to go out and enjoy things. Instead of watching her video watch the man now dubbed as "Ottawa Balcony Guy," snap at those occupying the city (warning for LOTS of swearing).
