Today in [pretends to be shocked] news, Russian coaches and athletes continue to face no consequences for doping.

Kamila Valieva was in the news last week for helping Russiathe Russian Olympic Committee secure a gold medal in the figure skating team event, and also two days later for drug test results coming in as positive for Trimetzidine ( ( Read more... )

this grandpa excuse is insane if true (I haven't found a proper news source quoting it)

Valieva's defense was that she was taking care of her grandfather and they drank from the same glass. I am reminded of the time I told my parents that a bead fell off of my dresser and into my nose. #KamilaValieva

is this real? if so, it reminds me of an italian tennis player (in her late 20s) who got a ban a few years ago. her mother had cancer and said the banned substance in her drug test was from her mothers cancer medication that got mixed into homemade tortellini lol

okay when your daughter suggests blaming her doping on your cancer meds that's when it's time to disown

So I guess we know B sample is coming back positive and that her parents might have known about it

I said I accidentally slammed my tit in a door once in college. I was trying on bathing suits with my mom in the changing room and totally forgot about the boob hickey.

I’m a terrible (and very infrequent) liar so it was really embarrassingly bad.

Right?

Last week I was doing some work around the house without a bra on and literally dropped a shelf on my nipple (smooshed between the shelf plank and shelf frame). I had the thought “karma for lying about doing this 20 years ago!” The shame of my squished tit lie.

ETA: weirdly it didn’t actually bruise so it turns out it was an even worse lie.

And the most hilarious part of this was the sample was from Russian Nationals, which were held in St. Petersburg. Her grandfather lives... wait for it... in Moscow. But sure, she drank from the same glass he did, and a drug that only stays in your system for 7-8 hours when you take a full dose got into hers because they shared a glass. Ok sure. On top of doping her, you know damn well she was told by her team to say this shit, so they're making her perjure herself as well.

My mom is a doctor in labor and delivery and unfortunately regularly has women in labor testing positive for meth, coke, etc. The excuses they give are WILD. “I was in the same room with/walked by someone/accidentally ate something with/ live with/ rode in a car with someone who does drugs and that’s why it’s in my system!!” Meanwhile she silently dials CPS yet again. Some of them are repeat offenders.
