this is something i wish other employers would get through their heads. providing perks and benefits to employees is not an inconvenience. employers want to argue, “well if we give benefits from the start, what will stop them from taking advantage and then leaving in a couple month?” what will stop them is HAVING AN EMPLOYER WHO GIVES A SHIT ABOUT THEM.

totally. the paranoid employers most worried about “leechers” are also the worst in employee treatment. they dont realize that caring for their employees means more loyalty, less turnover, higher productivity. they always want to blame the employees for leaving rather than finding ways to make them want to stay
