I didn't learn until I was making this post that Moonfall had such a batshit budget... I was tempted to go see it just for fun, but the reviews seem to indicate that it's not even worth that, which is a bummer.
This past week's film watches:
Three Days of the Condor (Hulu): A 1975 Robert Redford spy thriller directed by Sydney Pollack. It starts off really promising, and Robert Redford is great, but the romantic subplot is forced and fanfictionesque, and the film kind of underdelivers on the setup overall. I still liked it, though - there are some fantastically tense sequences.
Paddington (Netflix): Ugly cried at this movie at multiple points, but it was overall a true delight of a film!! Loved Sally Hawkins in this. Will watch the sequel when I've regained some emotional fortitude.
A Hard Day's Night (theaters): Noticed yesterday morning that this film was ending a random one week run (maybe in support of the Criterion release?) at the TCL Chinese ( ... )
