Rachel Zegler (20) has made a sly dig at her West Side Story co-star Ansel Elgort, who has been accused of sexual assault.

A fan posted a photo of Rachel in an embrace with Steven Spielberg as Ansel can be seen in the background.

If she left Ansel in the photo people would’ve said something. Now because she didn’t people are saying something. You can never win lol

She really doesn’t have any power when it comes to anything WSS-related. In fact, it seems like she has the most to lose, since it’s her big break and she doesn’t really have anything else to her name outside of YouTube.

Honestly, she just needs to either learn how to not respond on social media or to stand by her principles if that matters that much for her. I remember that people wondered why she was silent throughout the whole promo (again, she has her right to not!), so I get the annoyance for doing the least with that dumb tweet now.
She's possibly gonna face the same issues with her next costars. Shazam 2 is with an alleged abuser (Jack Dylan Grazer) and Snow White is with an alleged Zionist (Gal Gadot). Like, Sis, learn to just take the money. You owe people nothing.

Also, Spielberg is a coward.

Why is Spielberg a coward? If his people have strict guidelines on interviews being just about the movie, I say good for him. What I want is for more actresses to do the same thing.

Men need to hold other men accountable. I'm over the "well, he's smart for doing that" excuse. They're cowards.

People need to be held accountable for their own actions. Steven Spielberg is no more responsible for Ansel’s actions than his female costars and none of them should be asked to answer for Ansel’s actions. It’s a stupid trend that really serves no purpose. Is it going to decrease sexual assault? Nope. Is it going to make someone think twice before they assault one? Nope.

And we'll disagree on that.

Do we want men to speak up against abuse or not? Nobody is asking for people to self-flagellate over someone else's vile actions. But Spielberg isn't some rookie who'll lose his career over it. This is a "not my problem!" attitude here. When there's an outcry of people, victims included, who ask for support this is damn cowardly to put your head on the sand. I mean, it's not a coach or a team owner's fault if a football player has rape allegations either. We still rage when said shit about it.
Men need to speak up. I'm not debating about it.

I don't think he's a coward but I do think he's enabling his shittiness by giving him the role then letting the accusations go unaddressed while he's still the face of this movie of his. But then I still remember the quotes about Indiana Jones' love interest from him, so I'm not surprised by the lack of caring.
