I watched it! It’s a meh remake but a fun film if you remove it from the original. Really charming.
Gotta say though, in the description box it’s described as an ‘ensemble dramady with a pan-Arab cast’ and like, I know what they mean but also clearly someone at Netflix does not know what Pan-Arab usually means.

i had already semi watched the german version with my bf a week prior so it didnt make sense for me to watch it all over again in a different language and tbh i can barely understand lebanese T_T

anyway ofc i had to fight someone in the family chat about this movie. if it were in english no one bats an eye, but all of a sudden its destroying Egyptian Family Values TM when its in arabic. pls.

Not surprised. When you open the Grindr app in Egypt you get an in app warning about not showing your face in the profile picture and that you shall only meet up with people you know cuz the „moral police“ may be undercover, trying to „lure out“ gay people to beat them up or arrest them
