Once again The Simpsons predicted it.

In reality, it ultimately doesn't matter which of the candidates had won the republicans in congress weren't going to budge and any executive orders would have immediately been halted by the courts that McConnell packed.

At this point Simpsons enthusiasts could get jobs in PR solely dedicated to whether things were predicted in that show

More and more it feels like Biden and Democrats in Congress didn't ever expect to actually take both the presidency and Congress, because they seemed to have zero plan for anything once they got in office.

Even Trump came into office with a list of nominees essentially handpicked for him by groups like the Federalist Society and hit the ground running

Then again when Joe was asked in a debate what his plan for day one in office was he said "defeat Donald Trump" so maybe he was warning us the whole time he had no plan

that was the very first debate if I'm not mistaken. and the first town Dems committee meeting after that debate, two days after, we had three Biden campaign organizers in there and they had to sit there without losing their cool as we all asked "well what the hell else is he offering? cause just being not Trump isn't good enough". the Klobuchar, Booker, Warren and Beto staffers that were also in just sat there with a look of "don't gloat don't gloat don't gloat". I honestly felt bad for the Biden staffers having to deal with that.

The saddest thing is how much he resonated with people whose motivation to vote was "I wan a go back to not caring about politics"

I talked to a lot of voters who didn't want to vote for a progressive in the primaries because they thought a progressive president would just be more drama, and if Biden won things would just go "back to normal." You couldn't get them to understand that there are multiple serious crises bearing down on our country, and electing someone boring they can just forget about isn't going to make those crises go away.

part of my, I dunno, mission, in regards to my own political involvement is spreading the gospel that politics will always effect your life whether you care about it or not. unless you are white, male, cis/het, and rich, it will always effect you, so get informed and effect it right on back. my chick-on-EBT (until I got a part-time job and had "too much" money) ass is definitely gonna exert my influence.
