I was limiting scope to sisters both within the music/movie space to be a more pointed Jamie Lynn critique (and to not overwhelm myself) but I do adore the Fannings
I can always only think of how much it must suck to be the OLDER sibling of someone successful in the same industry you're interested in. I'm thinking of like the families where the parents obviously tried to push all the kids into show biz and the younger one found success and the older one wasn't able to until they could leech off of the the younger one's success... I mean it doesn't even have to be about talent, just luck who got discovered first. I'm not going to pity anyone who gets to be rich and famous ANYWAY but as an older sibling I just feel it in my heart lol there must be some awful moments.
I can't think of a specific nepotism celeb who's my favorite but I don't mind the ones that are low key and you don't really think about the fact that they had it on easy street. I hate anyone who does interviews acting like they totally auditioned and got jobs on their own talent, don't ever say that prove your talent with your body of work.
On the opposite side of that, I kinda wonder how hard it must be in the case of kids who were pushed into it, whilst their siblings got to have a 'normal' life. (Like MK&A - Elizabeth got to go into acting when she was older)
yeah although their parents didn't push them to be actors. their parents were pissed at timothee for dropping out of columbia as they should have been.
It's hard to believe now, but when Julia Roberts' breakout movie Mystic Pizza came out in 1988, her older brother Eric was already an established actor for a full decade and even got his own Oscar nomination a few years earlier for Runaway Train. Within two years, Julia's popularity completely eclipsed Eric's and these days more people know him as Emma's dad than for his own career. He also had some major drug problems in the late '80s/early '90s, so that didn't help is decline either.
ETA: Oh, I didn't notice this was supposed to be specifically sisters. Well, there are a lot of those, lol. Lana Wood is going to be forever known as Natalie's little sister even though she had her own acting career. I think Cherie Currie's twin sister Marie tried to have her own music career for a second in the early '80s too before marrying Steve Lukather from Toto. Cass Elliot's sister Leah Cohen-Kunkel also tried to have her own singing career before settling on back-up singing and then leaving music entirely to be a lawyer.
Eric "the extra who happens to be a baddie" Roberts got an Oscar non?! I thought he's major claim to fame was his appearance in the mv for the uk's alternative national anthem
