It's really not bad in general but I felt it was SO different compared to her previous discography that it did not match her very well. I feel like Pink Convertible wouldn't have been that off on her earlier records (Although it's a bit slower, more mature).
In general she's known for fast paced witty (Although sometimes a bit...girll....wtf) lyrics and that album was very far removed from that work. But Froot was already very different from the two records before as well.
Agreed. The lyrics of that album seem sincere and made sense to me whereas this albums lyrics are just all over the place and embarrassing. I feel like people hated love + fear because it was a “basic” pop album about love and I was disappointed at first but it grew on me. It’s refreshing and charming. I really cannot stand her direction as a grown adult, maybe if I was 17 I’d like it
I feel like her inability to find a lane is what set her back. there's nothing wrong with experimenting with each album but you still have to have a signature. It's why Madonna was able to reinvent but the new girls can't relate.

I saw her live during the Froot era and she is really fun to see as a performer.

I like the froot era too but I feel like she shifted too fast into it.
She got a lot of good will and follows with EH but then dropped it and occasionally looked down on it lol.

She should’ve never dropped “and the diamonds” from her name 😤😔
