Even though I know that chances are high that I'll get it at some point since I live in a metro area, I know I'll feel a way about it when it finally happens. I've dodged this thing for two years now by being extra-cautious and sacrificed my social life as a result, so it's going to be rough if I get it. At least I'm getting my booster tomorrow, so if it does happen, it'll (hopefully) be mild.
I hear you! Prep yourself in case the booster is rough on you. I was all vaxxed and boostered but this bitch got me. One perk is that this variant looks like it'll run rampant for a month and (hopefully) die down a bit. Fingers crossed!
Thanks for the tip! My first two doses took me out so I’m expecting this one to at least have me feeling down for a day. All three of us in this house are getting it tomorrow, so hopefully one of us will feel halfway human the next morning, haha. But I feel a lot better knowing I’m getting it - it’s like a warding spell, but actually real 😅
This strain is so scary and our province’s premier is a fucking disaster in the way he’s handling it. I hope people send his ass packing this summer when the election takes place. I did my part last time, I voted ndp
I could've sworn Whoopi said at some point last year or the year before that she has a tendency to be susceptible to colds and the like?
She mentions being vaccinated and boosted. I get the feeling at best that she probably went maskless at some point cause of the "well if everyone around me is vaccinated then I should be fine" mentality but I could be wrong.
Idk I know two people who are vaxxed, boosted, and always masked up who caught the omicron variant. It really is just that contagious. Where I really think it’s getting people is with washing our hands/ sanitizing. I feel like most of us don’t do it as much as before.
I was vaxxed, boosted, kept myself to a really limited social circle, wore my mask constantly at work and while out, and I still got it. You're right. The vaccine is just not as effective against this variant. Its huge number of spike protein mutations make it really good at binding to host cells and avoiding detection by antibodies.
I'm pretty sure my mom has it, she called me and didn't say she's sick but I could tell from her voice and she said she's fasting and couldn't come over because she doesn't have enough energy to drive for long. She's not vaxxed and she hasn't really taken covid seriously and thinks she's special because she eats weird healthy stuff and has positive thoughts *cringe*. I think she'll be ok but I just hope she doesn't try any dumbass tr*mp remedies.
