same I'd never seen the anime and I found the netflix show super entertaining. binged it in one week. it was at least different and interesting compared to the rest of the stuff they put out!

Yeah me too. We started watching the anime few days before the show premiered and I could tell why fans hated the Netflix version, but to be honest it wasn't that bad like for example the Netflix's version of death note

I didn't watch and don't care personally but Netflix is honestly the fucking worst about cancelling their content. It was one of the deciding factors in my cancelling my subscription, tbh. Why would anyone give their shows a shot when they cancel everything so quickly??? They have the perfect venue to purchase and produce shows from start to finish without ad revenue being a deciding factor so I just don't get their thought process. "Oh, this show we just released didn't immediately bring in 2 million new subscribers? CANCEL IT!"

Dumb.

Especially when one of their big success stories is You which got cancelled on TV and then as a throwaway purchase for their service happened to find an audience so they revived it. Like they understand something doesn’t need to be an immediate hit to develop an audience. A gif from the show getting memed on Twitter and going viral six months after the release for a totally unrelated joke can be the thing that spurs a new audience to check it out.

anytime I hear about a show being canceled 5 minutes after it's released I think of Cheers which is widely regarded as one of the best TV shows of all time, which had abysmal ratings for the first two years (!!!) before it found its audience. that kind of breathing room is unthinkable now. give the characters and the story room to grow! give people time to develop an attachment to it!

Same with Seinfeld and the X-files.

I'm a little surprised, only because it seemed like it was in their top ten a lot.

We watched the first couple eps, and while I think they did some things well, it was overall not very good. Love John Cho, and was hoping I'd get over the age thing, but I didn't. And the way they were doing the Vicious storyline was so weird.

Whenever there is a project that has a BIPOC actor/cast, and it doesn't perform well, I feel like I have to say that I really hope that the studio realizes there was interest in the project, it was just executed poorly.

edit: sorry for my sentence formation lol I didn't know how to word this
