Deserved honestly. The Stripped and Back to Basics eras were truly iconic.

Love this. The live version she performed back in the day on Letterman was so good.

I always enjoy these award show medleys from millennial popstars. All the hits we grew up on! Xtina deserves her flowers.

Tbh, I liked a lot of her less grainy(?)/vocal-fry-y(?) belting on her first album where she felt restricted by her label :X

But I did like a lot off the Stripped album. Walk Away, Beautiful, Fighter, Impossible, and Infatuation were on loop for teenage me. Also, the Beautiful MV with the two guys kissing (with tongue!) was like such a :O moment for me. It was in a mainstream pop artist's video for a single! And it got played on TRL! I think it really helped young me accept myself.

Same re: Beautiful. I was 18 when it came out and a freshman in college living in a small Southern town coming to terms with coming out. The entire Stripped album was so important to me and my coming of age process but the Beautiful video specifically was so important to me. A major pop star with this in her video during the Bush administration. It was a big deal. I’m grateful she went there.

Same-- her voice was so crisp and clear on that debut album. She captures some of that essence on later songs (Save Me From Myself, Say Something).
