James Tiberius Kirk.

Hate him or loathe him, William Shatner flying kicked his way into history when he replaced *googles* Jeffrey Hunter.

In that case the entire pilot was retooled. They got rid of all of the characters from the original pilot, except for Spock. But they did change Spock's characterization a bit. Jeffrey Hunter's character Christopher Pike was still written as the first captain of the Enterprise who Spock served under before Kirk took over, and footage from the original pilot was used in the later episodes The Menagerie, Parts I and II.

That’s true, it was less a re-casting and more a re-charactering…them re-using the pilot was a piece of budgeting genius.

True Blood was such a fun over the top show, really enjoyed it for what it was. Sometimes I think about Terry Bellefleur as a character and I get sad because it was sad (And he was really cute). But then I also think about the actor who played Lafayette and I get irl sad :(

But then I also think about how Sookie and Bill are dating in real life which comes as a shock every time I remember it lol. Obviously I have a lot on my mind with this show.

Yeah Brothers & Sisters originally had a diff family name, and had Betty Buckley (Nora, originally called Ira), Johanathan LaSaglia (Kevin, originally called Bryan), Dan Futterman (Jonathan), Gage Golightly and Jimmy Pinchak. (Paige & Cooper)

I’d completely forgotten about him and just looked him up. Apparently he created the Showtime series American Rust (2021). So, he’s still active behind the camera.

Amanda Walsh the MuchMusic VJ was originally cast as Penny? The more you know.

Rutina Wesley as Tara was a great choice. I think she's a really great actor and Tara is one of my all-time favourite characters.

My least fave recast is the 2014 Robert Sugden recast. The actor was not good enough to bring genuine emotion so while he was out murdering people and abusing gay men there was no nuance or depth. Karl Davies was the superior Robert Sugden (he was in My Mad Fat Diary, Happy Valley, and Chernobyl).
