I’m watching the thanksgiving ep right now!

On the actual thanksgiving this previous week I of course watched the superior Blair Waldorf must pie

I felt so bad for Julien that her dad turned out to be scum, and I’m glad she’s not sticking up for him but still :(

But also god this show is so bad, but so strangely entertaining lol

The Thanksgiving drama did deliver, I was enjoying the table full of three different simultaneous arguments. The parents are all interesting, I’ll give em that.

Audrey and Aki should really just break up though, I think they’d be much better off and happier. They’ve just had too many stupid issues at this point. Evan Mock might be straight irl but he has better chemistry with the boys he flirts/hooks up with than with Emily tbh. Maybe that’s just my gay brain wishing for that lol.

I haven't been able to properly but did read some detailed recaps and GURL! Davis keeping Nick away as his daughter is born/his girlfriend dies? I wouldn't be willing to reconcile either but might have tried at least once for the girls sake.

SPEAKING of, god poor Julien. I'm glad Zoya is there for her at this time but what a time and now she is going to be getting major blowback because what she did DOES look sus.

We stan Aki's mom!! And Aki in general. I can see the triad being a but try hard but if teenagers can't be try hard then who can be??

I’m rewatching the OG gossip girl rn, is the reboot just as campy? That’s the true joy of GG, but the new one looks so sleek I worry it takes itself too seriously.

Not near as campy. It tries to tell "serious" storylines and be outrageous but this gang isn't having fun.

I haven't watched the new eps yet but if we're comparing the 1st seasons, the OG had a much stronger cast; they were all invested and actually came across like they're talking to each other, whereas the reboot looks like everyone's just reciting their lines at whoever they're sharing screen time with. And it's like you said, no one here is having fun compared to the OG; they all lack screen presence, even the adults!

I agree, that’s my main complaint of the new show

There seems to be no genuine affection between most of them

Like Zora doesn’t even seem to like her boyfriend and he doesn’t even seem to like her

The blonde is the only one who seems to actually care about her friends
