Before islands of adventure opened to the public, they had a really cool press event. I think I was right in the target age for the opening, so we had a lot of fun going through the lines before anyone else was there. I know there were other small groups being led around here and there, but there were times when I was the only person on dueling dragons or hulk

It really felt like we had the park to ourselves, especially when they took us through the queues and the only time we stopped was when the tour guide wanted to point out something cool like the daily bugle office in the spider-man queue

Lately I've been listening to podcast the ride, and I always crack up when they refer to themselves as theme park journalists bc that was literally my dad's job

i miss maxpass*

*i havent been to disneyland since dec 2019 so i know fast/maxpass no longer exists. and this new genie+ thing confuses me.

but i remember when splash mountain first opened at disneyland, it felt like we waited 5 hours to ride the damn ride.

I can’t believe he built that simulation! this is a great video and I love the archival footage he digs up. I saw on TikTok that they finally let standby for Rise of the Resistance happen and it’s an absolute mess, why do this at the holiday season? the original fastpass system wasn’t the perfect solution but it helped so much, having to pay for access to fastpasses on top of all the money you’re already spending is ridiculous
