I'm sorry GAGA but you spoke too late, there was 100 occasions for you to speak but all it took is 1 day AFTER she is free for you to do it

There can be 100 occasions, and 99 don’t involve speaking out, but 1 does.

I know there was a long, long time where celebs were afraid to speak on Britney's situation, and no one knew what the right thing to say was, but since Britney herself has spoke out this year on the corruption, control and exploitation she has experienced, it baffles me that only... a dozen(? or so?)... celebrities have spoken out on Free Britney. I know it's more than some, but it's not a lot. I don't know if it's because Britney has never played the social game or keep ~famous friends, or if it's because people are scared to speak out on anything adjacent to mental health/women's autonomy in the age of cancel culture, but I'm still shocked at how few celebrities have actually spoken out aside from fellow female pop stars

Very true. I chalked it up to people being self involved more so than a lack of care but maybe it was a fear thing too yeah.

I think in general no one ever really speaks out because either they don’t care, or they are just outta the loop like the rest of us. Plus I think it’s smart to not speak out when you don’t know everything because it cause media scandal or an unnecessary noise when it comes from a celeb. If I was a celeb I would not publicly comment on someone’s health issues cause that’s me putting their privacy out there and that’s not cool ( ... )

That, and the fact that mental illness is a topic that generally makes people uncomfortable. I also think that a lot of people didn't know how bad things were until people started to speak against it and horrible details (like the IUD, Jaime buying Jaime Lynn a vacation condo with Britney's money, had to ask permission to do basically anything, etc) were released.
