omgggg Viola giving me some serious feels

I feel like I like this on a conceptual level (Sandra + Viola??? Yes plz), but I'm not sure the concept interests me. I just rewatched Double Jeapordy which reminds me of this very much except for being fun and trashy.

This sounds ..lifetime-y? Unless the violent crime was in self defense or saving kids or whatever..why would society forgive her past?

if she's sentenced to and serves 20 years then that's how its supposed to work.

I can't watch the trailer now but I'm gonna need to know her crime before I decide it's unforgivable.

I get the feeling there will be a defensive reason why she killed the cop but it's probably covered up. He was very likely doing something to her sister. But towns tend to revolt and stand up when cops get killed so that explains their one-sided anger.

However, I also get a vibe that the kid is not her sister but maybe her kid? It doesn't clearly explain how old Sandra was when she went to prison, but her outrage and desperation in seeing her again comes off more like a parent than a sibling. Who knows though. I'll probably watch this out of curiosity and due to the great cast.
