unfortunately, as with any historical figure nobody wants to watch a film about their highest highs. i do think a lot is projected onto diana, but she's not being singled out by hollywood et al.

Everyone close to her always talks about her great sense of humor and I'm not sure it's ever really been included in portrayals of her.

I am excited for Spencer, especially given the rave reviews, but The Crown season 4 already went hard on the bleakness and loneliness of her position and the severity of her mental health/eating disorder issues, so the fact that Spencer apparently quadruples down on the exact same beats and themes makes me a little apprehensive.

She's said some wild shit during her campaigning but the LA Times interview is something else. Highlights:

- she "felt some spooky, spiritual feelings" while making the film, "even if I was just fantasizing."

"I felt like there were moments where I kind of got the sign-off," she continued.

- "it was still a fight to keep her alive every day" and said remembering Diana is dead "was just absolutely lacerating."

"It just destroyed me constantly," she continued. "And that itself felt spiritual ... there were times where I was like, 'Oh, God,' almost like she was, you know, trying to break through.
