Gotta say, Clive Owen is impressing me as the abuser, and I'm glad this story is being told to the generations that mistakenly think he's a good guy.

Edie Falco really can't play someone not from NYC tbh, her nasal accent is inevitable. I'm almost always glad to see her, but she's an...um.... unusual choice.

Also, has anyone ever heard or seen interviews with Edie Falco where she is asked to explain how she acts or prepares for a character? It's hilarious because she readily admits that she has no idea how she acts or prepares a character. It's as confusing as it is funny.

He made my skin crawl tonight, between his conversation with Hillary while she was in bed and later, painting Monica as a troubled stalker who came on to him.

Clive Owen is fantastic in this.

And yeah even though impersonations aren’t the goal, you’ve got these iconic 90s media figures come to life with some of this acting, and Edie Falco… has she ever seen Hillary Clinton lol.

Clive Owen is amazing. He's really not obvious casting, but he's nailed the mannerisms, his speaking voice, and his general aura. I'm also really glad the show goes all in on how he treats all women in his life in an awful manner. Just in this episode, he just straight out lies to Hillary, talks about Monica in the most despicable way, but also softly coerces Bettie Currie into lying for him. He's just so gross.

Incidentally, the affair itself is not really the problem. It's the abuse of power to even this specific affair with a young woman in his employ and then not caring if Monica was destroyed, even helping to destroy her. Of course, there are also all the stories of harassment and rape. They hinted at the Juanita Broderick story, and I do wonder if they will circle back to this. If cancel culture was truly a powerful force, he would be banished from polite society.

Yes, Dan Bakkedahl plays Ken Starr. He's good at playing hypocritical sleezeballs (though the show has gone fairly easy on Starr so far.)

this series does a great job at showing how all of the women involved in this story were treated soooo poorly by all of the egotistical, abusive men around them who only wanted 1. more power or 2. to take another man with power down.

I can’t imagine how lonely and tortured monica felt in those days after the news became public. I felt horribly for linda in this episode with the SNL impersonation. and paula jones was just manipulated from the beginning by her dumb husband, her lawyers and the machine behind them, and that republican lady.

I was too young to understand any of this while it was happening, but now after watching this I’m amazed at how clinton came out of this relatively unscathed. it’s such an injustice that monica and to a lesser extent linda bore the brunt of the backlash.

No sympathy at all for Linda. The show if anything has made her look better than she actually was (having her appear a little conflicted), she slammed Monica in her book and said they were never friends and she had no regrets about what she did. She reaped what she sowed.

yeah you’re right, linda obviously also used monica’s trust in her as a chess piece in her personal beef with the clintons and in her own quest to be important and relevant. I just felt bad for her seeing the snl impersonation but everything else she’s done has been cruel and self-serving.

This show makes me yell at the screen more than anything I've watched recently tbh, [like] when Bill was basically putting words in Betty's mouth to make sure she'd go along with claiming that Monica came onto him, then was like "Also can you call her and see how she's doing? Cool" LIKE??? Stay away from her! Leave her alone!
