I mean, okay.

I honestly have ZERO exposure to her beyond on here and when I’m at Safeway and they play something old.

It’s always a surprise how popular she is because she is not on my radar even though I don’t live under a rock.

One thing I don't like about Adele is that she breaks those records because she is seen as this soulful safe white singer. She can catch any demographic with that basically and that song is really not it. It's just there and it's treated as something out of this world.

Yes! She caters to and sells well because of the 45+ demo who buy tons of safe l, white music and her videos reflect that.

She's two years older then Taylor Swift but her videos play to middle aged folks/GenX reminiscing about their mid 20s and 30s (tape decks, flip phones). I'm a geriatric millenial and her nostalgia cues are not for my generation (yes I had a flip phone but I was like 19).

I think it's really interesting cause she essentially gives something to everyone. She is very talented but I also wonder if she ever wants to break out of the safe image she has created for herself? I dont think her personality reflects her videos tbh.

she is talented af so any criticism i say is not taking that part from her at all but um - with that song? how?

It's because she has been MIA for years and has not released anything in ages. The song itself doesn't really matter, it's just the fact that Adele is back and people are excited about that

Good for her I guess? The song isn’t even that great or anything? Like it’s a fine Adele song, but the way people are freaking out over something so basic…..

I feel like she could phone in whatever and collect her coins at this point.
