Planning on seeing The Last Duel, Bergman Island and the VU doc within the next week 🎞️

We've got a lot of movies on deck this weekend! Gonna see The Last Duel tonight, The Velvet Underground tomorrow night, and Rear Window on Saturday night. Also going to try to fit in Bergman Island sometime before next weekend, because that's when things get really busy.

So the new Academy Museum has screenings every day, and they are generally programmed as part of a series. For instance, right now they're doing a series of Hayao Miyazaki films (which ties into his exhibit in the museum), a series of Halloween films, and a series of films with some relation to Haile Gerima.

They're also doing a "Celebration of Women Composers" series, and one of the films in that lineup was Escape From LA, with a score by Shirley Walker. I knew my husband liked that movie, and since we already saw a film in the big theater at the museum, I wanted to check out the smaller theater, so we went to see that last night
