That movie really stayed with me. There was something about how her and Patrick Wilson were play-acting a nuclear family on weekdays whilst their SO's were at work that made me highly specific kind of sad?

I know Revolutionary Road is like two hours of misery and screaming, but it’s truly so underrated. Her performance and Leo’s, are incredible. Actually everyone in that movie is like a master class in acting. She was so good in Mildred Pierce too.

I love it, BUT I think Leo overacts.

This Woody Allen supporter should've won for Revolutionary Road instead of that translator movie. All in all I'm good with her not winning anything ever again 💁

lol that her oscar winning performance isn't on the list

eternal sunshine was great, but maybe only so because she was playing against type so it was refreshing. she's fantastic in revolutionary road.

What made her performance in ESOTSM so great was that she fully embodied that character. Like, I forgot about Kate the actress and just saw the character. It was particularly interesting then because Garden State came out around the same time, and Natalie played somewhat of a similar character, but it felt insincere and fully a trope unlike Kate’s performance and character.

That's because Kate's character was a direct criticism of the manic pixie dream girl trope and use of it. A lot of people thought it was the mpdg but it was later noticed that it was a deconstruction and subversion of the trope.

It was interesting because Charlie Kaufman called it out about 1 year before Nathan Rabin coined the term.
