lmaooo it was a bold move for sure but the right call to make at the time.

45-day windows before digital release is the best of both worlds and will probably be permanent outside of the big hits that can still do good business like shang-chi. but even then their runs will probably only be extended to 55-60 days. 90-day windows are long gone and never coming back.

Good tbh by the time stuff was released from the 90 day, I had no interest in it anymore. 45 is already pushing it.

I like marvel movies and scary movies in the theater. otherwise I'll watch everything else at home. I'd like to see Dune in the theater but it's not required. just having both options is nice!

i have amc a-list and am struggling nowadays to even find 3 movies to watch a week. it's part to do with movies going straight to digital (like 2 of the 3 new releases this upcoming weekend will be online as well as in theaters - addams family and many saints of newark), and part that there's just not much out there anymore in general? venom this week, bond next? meh

like who the fuck is gonna risk getting covid to see dear evan hansen. i judge everyone who has, wants to, and will.

My antisocial introverted ass would prefer to be home in general. The pandemic made it more social acceptable for me not having to explain myself. Still, there is not a single film that would make me go to a crowded theater and tempt Covid. Fuck that shit.

Granted, there very few films in years that I wanted to shell out money and actually go to the cinema for.

i've yet to encounter a single theater screening anything near full, which has slightly surprised me. at most maybe half full and everyone's scattered away from each other? pretty surprising given it's nyc theaters too. i'm wondering if it's just a covid safety thing or people are just flat out fuck it when it comes to going back to the movies

I'm in the 'fuck it' category. Haven't been to the theater since 2019

I just really like having the option of seeing something in a theater or at home. I would love for more studios - streaming platforms included - to offer that for their content. I understand why they won’t, but I saw/will still see certain things in theaters & watched quite a few things on HBO Max that I would have never bothered with had they only been released in theaters.
