I don’t even care for Norman BUT a you know he was in a horrible vehicle accident that left him disfigured and he had to get reconstructive plastic surgery. Also, I would read the attached article describing the incident which makes a ton of sense of you were from nyc and understood the atmosphere of the festival.

I normally don't care to comment on peoples appearances but Norman looked just fine 10 years ago, which was years after his accident. People love to shame when others comment on how terrible he looks as if it's because of the accident but it's not. He has taken shit care of himself over the last 10 years due to excessive smoking, drinking, being out in the sun, etc.

But why do people care so much? I feel like comments about him are always so ott that I used to think I missed something but then realized that there didn't seem to be anything beyond his looks that people were talking about.

Did anyone actually read what happened? I honestly believe the kid. I’ve seen this happen before and New York City cops are the worst. Either they were drunk which sounds about right for San Gennaro or the group of girls following Mingus were crazy fans. The kid is a local (his father lives/lived around the corner on Crosby street for years) and has never once acted out a day in his life...I am going to give him the benefit of the doubt.

According to Mingus, he “threw his arm out” to protect himself from the woman and accidentally hit her.

“It was instinct,” Mingus said. “I was reacting to them swarming me and was afraid for the safety of my group.”

“We didn’t think anything of it, but these five girls followed us for two blocks, throwing food at us and yelling,” he continued. We told them to leave us alone, but they kept following, threatening to hurt my girlfriend and her friend.”

“These girls swarmed me,” Mingus alleged, “one pulling my hair from the back, another throwing water in my face.”

Mingus then recalled throwing his arms out to defend himself when he hit one of the women.

“Ten seconds later the police got involved,” Mingus said. “Police saw one of the girls hurt and refused to listen to the context. My intention for that day was to mind my own business and play fair games.”
