the queen's gambit dude gave the worst speeches of the night. loved the hacks wins (go watch hacks right now), the lasso wins, michaela's win and the josh o'connor win. mare came through with an upset, especially kate over anya (the gold dress curse is real).

the ceremony itself was more meh. i liked that they set it up like the sag awards or the golden globes, i hope they find a way to make it work. but the set was weird because you kept seeing people walk around and behind the stage while the presenters were going on. hate the new trend of introducing the nominee clips first and then having the presenters do their unfunny bits before announcing the winner. the "comedy" sketches were all terribly unfunny and dated, especially the fly bit. hopefully nbc produces a better ceremony next year (get amber ruffin to host plz!)

It was such a weird transition from the clips to the presenters trying to do bits. I keep hoping that one day awards shows will realize that it's okay to just have the presenters say, "And the nominees are..." followed by "And the winner is" WITH NO JOKES OR BLATHER IN BETWEEN.

I said this in the live post, but I’m always like they shouldn’t do any jokes/bits/sketches, they are always so stupid

But then I thought Jennifer Coolidge was hilarious! So it can be done

But good god stop with the stupid bits

Then there's no point in having presenters. Just get one host or the announcer to do it all.

I May Destroy You should've won in all the categories. Happy for the Ted Lasso crew and Jean Smart. The Emmys still love their whites huh

Did Juno and Hannah come dressed in character? Their styling looked similar to how they are on the show.

Gutted for Michael K. Williams. It was the chance to honor him and his work.

It's such bullshit and I'm honestly so happy that I went to bed early instead of wasting my time waiting for the Emmys to finally recognize this man. I don't think anyone wants a consolation win for not winning in previous years, but this wasn't a case of making up for past oversights...it really seemed that journalists at least had pegged MKW as the deserved frontrunner in his category, based on his performance. Many of the entertainment publications/media sites (EW, Vulture, etc.) had predicted him to win for months. Additionally, if he had won, nobody would be able to say this was just bc voters wanted to give him a posthumous award, since voting was closed before his death ( ... )

Queens gambit should’ve lost limited series IMO and I liked it.

Limited lead actress was stacked but I don’t think Kate should’ve won. Julianne’s win was deserved though. I thought she absolutely killed it.

& I’ll root for Olivia Colman in anything. We knew Ted lasso and the crown would sweep but Gillian winning for playing Margaret thatcher…. No.

It goes without saying that Michael K Williams should’ve won.
