Bang Chan had that benefit of being around JYP for a long time so he learned a lot. But him + 3 Racha are maybe the best writing trio in kpop and I could 100% see him becoming a CEO one day.
It’s rare I don’t like something they’ve done. Even if their new album isn’t my fave it’s still good.
I’ve noticed that JYP has talented song writers/producer idols under them, but SKZ is the only ones allowed to flex that. JB was pretty good too and I’ll die on the hill that Young K is one of the best song writers in kpop (especially the stuff he does with Wonpil - Where the sea sleeps STILL puts me in my feels). Also Jae composer a song on D.O’s album and he’s mentioned some big names were interested in his music.
But I’m an older fan too and I am more the mom fan. I call the younger ones my kids.
But there’s a decent list of idols I think will go on to produce for not just kpop stuff but other stuff. When they’re done being idols they just need to get together and work together.
I think JB was SEVERELY undermined by JYP. I saw some clips of him with JB in the studio and it gives me a weird vibe between them. Overall got7 always felt extremely controlled and like they didn't allow them to explore more (at least to me as a fan of their music/work and not much of a personal fan tbqh). Now that they released their solo stuff I'm super impressed tbh.
I am not much of a day6 fan, I just don't vibe with their style (I'm either full indie alt rock or pop, not much in between like day6) , but Young K´s album is SO GOOD. I was really surprised I actually liked it lol.
I call the younger ones my kids. lmao I could legit be mom for some of them. When I hear "I was born in 2002/2004/2006" I get little heart attacks when I realized I was already in college partying or following TVXQ From SK to Japan to HK lmao.
GOT7’s post JYP career is both surprising and not at the same time. That man had solid proof that groups putting their own style into their music worked and resonated with fans (stray kids), but ignored it. But I’ve genuinely enjoyed nearly everything they’ve put out this year. I’d argue they’re better off now than before, considering the amount of support they are getting to do their own thing.
If you don’t like Day6, try Even of Day (if you haven’t?) young K and Wonpil are the main writers, but it’s the two of them and Dowoon. Their first album was one of my favorites last year. But Young K really did drop that amazing album and is gonna dip on us for 18 months to enlist. 😭
I think this is my fave track from the album! The MV is amazing, just everything goes so well together, the choreo, the concept, love it all.
They should let Hyunjin use his vocals more, he has an interesting voice tbh. I thought that since that one Psycho cover stage.
I think that's my fave thing about skz, the members are all so versatile and I think they're all solid vocalists (to different degrees and ranges). Not saying they're all main vocal material, but it's interesting to me how they all sound so different from each other. When I didn't know all their names and would listen to their songs I was able to distinguish at least all the vocals/raps from each other.
My Pace was literally the first kpop song I downloaded. I had it on my playlist a while before I really got into kpop. It’s still one of my favorite songs by them.
I genuinely think that them, and ATEEZ, are the future of the kpop industry where boy groups are concerned.
I saw this the day deja vu came out and it was overload. 4th gen really is a different beast.
Most of my friends don't pay attention to Stray Kids even though it's one of my favorite groups but I sent them all this music video and suddenly they're all interested. My only disappointment is that Lee Know wasn't involved in this particular concept lol
