OMG! this post is so timely. I just randomly binge watched the whole series from start to finish. It was so fascination seeing the passage of time and Columbo (remain the same) in each era.

I'm up for a reboot, but I'm not sure who will do the character justice.

Also, the whole series is on peacock and you don't need to subscribe and you can use Hola VPN if you are abroad.

If they did reboot they'd probably go the Perry Mason route and do whatever that was lol

Which, No thanks.

The thing in Hollywood for like a decade now is to make everything "gritty". I heard a few years ago that they wanted to do a Fragle Rock movie, but the script they got wasn't gritty enough.

So if they did reboot Columbo, they'd make the murder scenes bloody, & have him divorced with a drinking problem.

I fucking love Columbo. Also, it's a show that I think aged quite well, all things considered, and I think one of the reasons is that, unlike many cop shows, Columbo was all about going after rich, arrogant assholes who would always underestimate Columbo because he was a seemingly simple, shabby-looking guy.

Also, essential (short) viewing for any Columbo fans:

He was just a nice dude too, no tragic backstory to explain being an asshole for him; he wasn't a dick, he didn't rough perps up, he loved his dog, he didn't raise his voice. Considering it was a murder mystery show the whole thing was very genteel.
