Last night, the MTV Video Music Awards took place. People are giving Billie Eilish and Rosalía some backlash for winning Best Latin award for their song, "Lo Vas A Olvidar."

This because none of the singers are exactly from Latin America, Rosalía is Spanish and Billie is from the USA, with Irish and Scottish roots.

If this is ultimately about the voters making the choice to award two non Latinas, then why not go after the show and not the artists?
Unless the underlying message of the criticism, is that they never should have made the song in the first place? Or at least turned the nomination down?
