I listen to that song a lot and I always got the sense from the lyrics.

Yeah I really like the song, but it is quite dark when you listen to the words.

Yeah, I think Flinch is too; I'm not sure I've ever read/heard her talk about it but to me it sounds like it's about PTSD from an abusive relationship. It's such a heartbreaking song to me.
